What i meant was, that it's perfectly normal. There is no "right" age for that sorta thing. Give him a few years and he will start to bring girls home.
Yeah, I know what you mean.
A lot of people punish their children for masturbating, I don't see why, it's a completely healthy, normal thing to do.
My next door neighbour when I was young tried to tell me I'd get an STD, it terrified me. Untill I realised an STD was a sexually transmitted disease. :D
To mom, you should have *the* talk with your son early on. Forget the fairytails and bees and other assorted junk. Just be honest about sexuality, tell him about STD's and safe sex. Do not leave it to the school because no kid takes it seriously in there.
Masturbation is as normal as breathing. Further, it's physiologically necessary for a non sexually active male. Rather than punishing your son, please take this time to teach him about sex and appropriate places to relieve himself. There is no possible way you can keep him from masturbating.

Health risks? None whatsoever. In fact, it's good for both phsyical and mental health. It's good for the heart as It lowers blood pressure and it releases (for empaths) oxytocin, a chemical that helps you relax. :)
Thank you everyone for your responses. So it's normal for a child of that age? And there are no health risks?
Yes it's perfectly normal and no, there are no health risks. Just talk to him about it and let him know that it's normal. Kids get all sorts of crazy ideas in their heads if parents don't explain things to them as they are.
Well he played with his penis and it felt good. Let him know thats something frowned upon in public and must be done in the confines of that bathroom, shower or his bedroom. Also you need to buy him some baby wipes.
When he gets older teach him to masterbate into condoms. That way he'll get good at putting condoms on and probably won't get a girl pregnant because of his excellent masterbation experience. This paragraph was a joke.
You really need to get your head straight on this.
Not funny, not funny at all. She is a honestly concerned mother who is looking for advice on a serious question about her son. There is no need to be rude.
