Scott Haskins wrote a book, Laughing In The Face Of Danger". The toured Canada and spoke with WWII vets about the lighter side from the war (humour, etc.) that helped them get through the tough times. A portion of the purchase goes directly back to the legions.

I am sorry that I was not at the Veteran's Parade this year. First one I have missed in almost 25 years. My sources tell me that it was a marvellous service and the sun shone on you all. I heard that there was a handsome retired sailor laying the wreath for Knox Presbyterian Church. I also hear he had his picture in the Dundas Star. We (his family) are very proud of Jim and the rest of all the veterans who fought for our freedom. This in turn allows me to live and work in what use to be called the "Iron Curtain:. Thank you for all that you have all done for our country! No better land than Canada"!

C.W. Walker was my grandfaher. It is good to see his picture posted. I have looked through most of your branch site and am very impressed I only wish I had stories of my grandfathers to post as I was very young when he passed away so maby my mother might know some.
