Grew up in suburb of Cleveland, "cousin" of Chad (my grandmother - Katie - and his mother - Mary - were sisters) even though Chad and his siblings were of the same generation as my siblings and me. |

During the past 35 years I have lived in New Jersey, pursuing my career in a very competitive, fast-paced life, away from relatives in Cleveland and Ohio. Ellen recently responded to the notice that my siblings and I put together concerning our mother Eleanor's recent death on June 28, 2008, at age 89. Ellen sent us each an e-mail to share here sympathy with us, and to let us know that Chad had died. All the good things that I remember about Chad's family, his father, mother, sister, and brothers - all seemed to have combined in him. He was the youngest in his family. He always had that terrific glow of enthusiasm and love of life that was in the other people of his family. I only knew him as a young man while he was growing up and then when he graduated from college. Everything that I have read here is a confirmation of the promise I saw in him as the kind of man who shared his love for life with those whom he encountered. It seems to be a quality that has been passed on from his mother and father, who seemed to have a very deep love for each other. May God bless his soul, and may his wife, Ellen, live a happy and productive life knowing that she had the opportunity to give her love to a very wonderful person. |

I hope that Chad's friends, classmates, and colleagues continue to leave these postings -- it is so heartwarming to hear from you all. Thank you. And if anyone is interested in helping me to maintain this website, please get in touch. I'm more focused on events to raise money for research -- it's too much to do everything myself. And -- if you'd like to be on my email list to participate and/or help us with fundraisers, please email me and let me know. Our current activity is the Akron/Canton/Wooster Walk to D'Feet ALS. You can sign up online at: alsaohio.org. Our team is "Blooming's Believers!" G-d bless you all. Ellen |

Dear Mrs. Blooming, My sympathy to you and your family. I saw Chad's hole sponsorship at the Hockey golf outing. I had the pleasure of having Chad as my English teacher in 1987 at Padua. He was a kind man with a great presence in the classroom. Chad came to Padua half way through the school year. He replaced a horrible teacher that was not liked by many. Needless to say, Chad brought a new light and attitude to the English Department at Padua. My most memorable moment with Chad was when a few classmates and I took him to the Cavs game, my father got us courtside seats, you thought he was in heaven. Now, I'm sure he has a courtside seat looking over all of us. Peace |

Dear Mrs. Blooming Chad and I were classmates at Padua. And i mean it when I say he stood out as a gifted and purposefull human being then and never stopped being so. What a gift he was to all who new him. And I feel Chad is not thru giving. From his life here to his life after, Chad will continue to give to us and be an Ambasador for Him who gives us all life. I wish you peace. Bob 73' |

Chad is a person I met at Padua in 1969-70 our freshman year. Chad was quick with a 'hello' and always smiling. It was a great way to start the day off bumping into him. I will remember him as a good kind soul and a chuckle or two. My life was enriched just known him, talking to him, laughing with him in the four short years we spent together walking the halls Padua. |

Chad was my American Lit teacher at Padua High School in the late 1980s. He was my absolute favorite teacher that year and I have fond memories of him. I was so saddened to see him listed under "In Memoriam" when I got my "Paduan" in the mail today. He made a great impression on my life. It is no surprise to me that he continued to touch people's lives throughout the rest of his, even until the very end. He was the "real deal". My prayers are with his family. Chad does not need my prayers...I know he's with God. |

Chad, Caz Miezin and I were hockey mates at Padua for not nearly enough time in the early 70's. In fact, some of the first hockey teams to compete for the good ole Bruins. Chad was pretty much the reason I got into hockey from the get go in grade school, in which I am forever grateful to him. After living out West now for 30 years,I look back with nothing but fondness and appreciation for Chad and the good times we all had. There was that certain quality that led others to gravitate towards Chad for the opportunity to get to know him. I'm sure all my fellow Bruin hockey mates join me in raising our sticks to #8.....keep on skaten "ChadBoy". |
