How to get pictures on actual website page

I am a complete beginner with this webpage building thing, but I finally got some of it figured out. However, now I am trying to add pictures to my website right on the page and I cannot figure it out. I have pictures on my account but when I add the coding it just looks like coding not actual pictures. Can anyone help me?

Thank you

Re: How to get pictures on actual website page

this matters on a lot. Firstly are you using a program like dreamweaver/frontpage or are you using the built in bravehost text/visual editor.

Assuming your using the bravehost text/visual editor because the programs are self explanatory here is what you do.

Find the page you want and open it with the visual editor. After you do that in the top bar you will see insert Image. There you will type the extenstion of the image.

For example:

Lets say you are editing Index.html and the image you want to enter is in the folder img called top.jpg.

So your going to do insert image and type in img/top.jpg or http://yourdomain.com/img/top.jpg.

Browser: firefox

OS: windows vista/mac
