like what editor you are using to make your site, what link you want to remove
if you are using the wizard all links will be in your navigation area on all your pages but you can change around your navigation menu but as said we need a little more to really go on here
updating pictures did you add some to your page and you are not seeing them updated then you are probably seeing a cached version of your page so refresh a few times.
Hi Jon
yes my site is here on bravenet and I want to add pics and remove one link on there
would you do this for me or is there an easier way
I don't know any thing about codes
thanks
Hi
my webpage is this http://precimofan.bravehost.com/index.html
and I want to know how can I update photos and remove a link.
I don't know any th8ing of codes and still very new at this.
I have 2 IM sevices yahoo and aim.
the username is the same as you see here.
thanks
Splendid. Your email, aim and yahoo are of course totally useless, but your URL also gives us your editor. Right at the beginning of your page, it says: "meta name="GENERATOR" content="Microsoft FrontPage 5.0"
Actually, I don't really know how to do things in FrontPage, but I'm sure there are lots of people here who do.
But I sort of assumed that FrontPage was the kind of editor where you just highlight the unwanted link and delete? Then upload (or "publish").
As for updating pictures, I'm not sure what you mean. Replacing existing pictures with more updated version, or updating a pictures page by adding more?
To replace an image:
open appropriate page in FrontPage "normal" view
right-click on picture to be replaced
click "properties" and note width/height of image
open new image in your image editor
resize to correct dimensions
transfer image to "images" folder
delete old image..(right click-delete)
insert new image..(place cursor to correct postion, click "insert image" from toolbar)
To delete a link:
open page in FrontPage "normal" view
highlight link
right-click and "delete"
then delete linked file from appropriate folder
This is for FrontPage 2003. Terminology may change in your version, procedure would be the same...
The better you are explain exactly what part of the process is causing you problems, the better answers you will get. "it needs help" will get you something about as helpful as this.
The web pages were originally created with an application called FrontPage. And, you said that someone else set it up. So my question would be, are you still using FrontPage? If you don't have access to FrontPage, then changing the links and images will be different than that "macmc" described.
It seems to me that some of the images on the inner pages are changing. Have you figured out how to make the changes you need?
