Not very useful advice for the OP as this thread is about 13 months old. When the question was posted you still had to host the XML site map on your own hosting. I haven't had occasion to look into Google site map support since then so I don't know what changes have been made.
Well I have not seen any place where Google will allow you to submit a sitemap from an outsite source. It has to come from your webhost file manager and due to the fact free bravehost does not support .xml I guess I can't submit one.
I have another question... My old site was a geocities site... as some of you may know they are going to shutdown sometime this year... so I have recently moved my site to bravehost. I put referring links on the old site. http://www.geocities.com/ithascome/
I am wondering if I should change the tags on the old site... or should I just shut it down? I wonder if Google has a problem with sites that have the same tags?
My new site is http://ithascome.bravehost.com/index.html
