Re: Re: I used Word to design my site, now have problems
The "save as html" option in Word is designed to create a web version of a printed document while preserving the print format. This results in code which is very difficult to untangle if you have problems.
If you must create a framed layout (there are lots of reasons why this is a bad idea) then you will need to create a third page to link the other two together. Word is not designed to do this and you will need to use Notepad and hand code the html.
Re: I used Word to design my site, now have problems
Peter...I forgot to thank you properly for explaining the Word Document being saved as html. I guess because I have tried to teach all this to myself, that when I came across the words..save as html or save as webpage..I just assumed I could build a whole webpage with it. I was able to do that for a simple page though..it was nice and easy.
Actually this really did help me..so again thanks for that.
Also you said not recommending the frame...I used the frame to make a side menu. I really like the side menu...and want to use that. What would you suggest for a side menu ?
I don't think I am capable of doing this anyway, but would like your thoughts just in case I get stubborn and decide to take the time to try it...hahahaa
