Re: Need help with background and sounds

big problems with this site

one your material is all below the bravenet banners which it needs to be in between and more

you can't put mp3's on your site because you have the free site

upload them to ripway and then perhaps embed it on your site with the code it generates from uploading it to ripway or someplace

but you need to do some serious design work here as well too

very poor site

have a lot here with learning as well on how to code items and more too

Re: Need help with background and sounds

well thanks... i know i have a lot to learn... i didn't claim to be a master at html. now rather than telling me how bad my site is, can you tell me the things i needed to know and teach me? rather than just tell me that i have a poor site?

Re: Re: Need help with background and sounds

Picture - you don't resize pictures with site building tools, you need a specialist photo editor. You can pay a small fortune for dreamweaver or download Irfanview which is free and perfect for resizing and cropping.

Just upload the resized pic to your site.

Re: Re: Re: Need help with background and sounds

Thanks Peter. But if someone has a different screen resolution, won't that make the picture come out the wrong size? Sorry for my ignorance, just learning here.

I could swear I've seen a tag somewhere that lets you make the background fit the window. Maybe it was a value that you had to put or something...

The link the page I'm building: http://floydtheduck.bravehost.com/Ben%3C3Nikki.html

Also, a friend of mine gave me Dreamweaver... I think 2004 or something. Anyways, I've never used it, dont' really know how to. Any tips? Would that make things easier for me?

Re: Need help with background and sounds

Also, I tried resizing the picture, now it tiles itself because it's too small. My girlfriends screen resolution is higher than mine can reach, so I have a feeling it will tile for hers as well.
Is there a way I could make it a floating background image that fits the window for any resolution?
