At the risk of sounding like a total novice...

I am having difficulty figuring out the code to link an email address or link to a word or phrase. For example, if you go to a website, and there is a paragraph in which the phrase "email me" comes up, when you pass your cursor over it, it will allow you to click on it and pop up outlook express or something. Anyhow, any and all help is most appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Re: At the risk of sounding like a total novice...

Your name

In this code put your e-mail address where it says that part.

in the subject area it will bring up a subject to the e-mails they send you if you want it.

Otherwise take the subject part out of the code above

Also might find some way to code it to keep spam down as well too.

I know some people for the e-mail part put sally@nospaminterface.com and just put a little not to remove the no spam part

But if someone here knows a good way to code it to at least keep some of the spam down I would love to know as well.

Especially if have e-mail addresses that you use with outlook and such

Re: At the risk of sounding like a total novice...

Here is what I use for my mailto link:
a href="mailto:%62%65%6e%6e%69%65%73%68%40%62%65%6e%6e%69%65%73%68%65%70%68%65%72%64%2e%63%6f%6d" class="menu">Contacta
This is what the spiders see, but people will see my email address when they put the cursor over the link.
Here's a link to the site that changes the code, just follow the simple instructions. http://www.mways.co.uk/prog/hidemail.php

SPAM ME

or if you don't want spam then you set up a contact form and use a form2mail script on the server to convert it to an email (you can use the Bravenet one if you don't have server side access to load your own).

Re: At the risk of sounding like a total novice...

Bennie Shepherd,
is there any problem if the spiders see the email link?
can you please tell me the use of that code?
thank you

rk... If you look at the souce code on my site at the bottom you will see the code I pasted above, not my email address.

Re: At the risk of sounding like a total novice...

I use those hidden like codes for my e-mail link to keep spam down with my e-mail accounts that are business purposes and stuff

I get to much spam if don't at least have some kind of hidden part to it.

A lot of people I know don't like getting spam in their e-mail boxes so do what they can to keep it down so it isn't flooding their e-mail boxes.

I for one am tired of the viagra ads, and the notes from some foreigner needing help and more things.

Re: At the risk of sounding like a total novice...

I would mind the viagra ads if they'd send a free sample with each one.
