Netscape/Firefox not displaying Javascript correctly

I used the Javascript code for a dropdown menu from the Bravenet site (drop down 1)http://resources.bravenet.com/scripts_archive/javascript_dhtml/menus/drop_down_1/ and it seemed to work fine until I plugged it into my page with

Netscape and Firefox both render it as all crammed in the upper left corner in a font so tiny it looks like a line of scribble. IE doesn't have this issue. I was able to repeat it by using the unchanged script and placing the above tags on the page.

Re: Netscape/Firefox not displaying Javascript correctly

Opera shows just Websphere Support and nothing else. My version of Firefox (1.0) has no menu at all. Perhaps a different kind of menu altogether? And if I were you, I'd loose the mouseover image.

Re: Netscape/Firefox not displaying Javascript correctly

Try changing your dtd to be loose.dtd instead of transitional.

Re: Re: Netscape/Firefox not displaying Javascript correctly

As a general rule Netscape and Firefox follow standards more closely than IE. If IE does what you expect and Firefox doesn't then you have made a mistake but have struck lucky with IE.

Testing Web Pages

Internet Explorer 6 closely follows the standards that applied when it was first released 6 years ago. The standards today are completely different and IE6 is therefore the least compliant of the available browsers. Test your page on Firefox 1.5 or Opera 8.51 if you want to see how it looks in a current web browser. Once it works properly there you then patch it if necessary to support antique browsers such as IE6.
