Link text from another page, for updates

I waned to know if there was a way to link text from one page and have it show up in another. That way I don't have to update everypage on my site just one. And I don't want to use the iframe code.

Use a .js file containing document.write statements.

would I just add the url of the page that I want to pull text from in the statement?
