Publishing HTML code to web

I have made changes in the HTML code.

1-Went to File Manager
2-select page to edit
3-made changes and SAVED them
4-use the VIEW in file manager, what I wanted to happen, happens (so I think I did every thing right)

BUT NOW HOW DO I GET IT save for good and publish to the web.

If I go to the wizard page, and publish I lose all changes I made.

Also, if I make changes in the HTML, can I no longer use the wizard?

Two things I am trying to do, is one add the code to the guestmap stuff and remove the calendar link from the first main page.

Thanks,
Kat

Re: Publishing HTML code to web

The Wizard stores the page info in a database. Publishing converts that database content into HTML.

Almost all other editors work with the HTML directly and when you put it on your iste it is then available for all to see. Those who have recently viewed the old version of the page will only see the changes after the cached copy on their computer is overwritten. How long this takes depends on their browser settings but most browsers are set to only recheck for new versions of pages every 5 or 10 hours. The cached copy can of course be immediately overwritten by pressing CTRL-F5.
