Use a
tag instead.

There are a couple of style settings that let you control the letter, word, and line spacing.

style="letter-spacing: 5;">This is extra letter spacing

style="word-spacing: 5;">This is extra word spacing

style="font: 10px/18px">This is setting the font size and line height.

The line spacing style does not work in Netscape but seems to work in Internet Explorer. The other ones seem to work fine in both.

will reduce the margins around paragraphs to 2 pixels. Simply set the margins to the required amount of space.
