I don't know if I am using it right, but when I use the password gateway, it does log me to where I want to be, but I don't know how to make it so you cannot go to that link just by typing it in your browser address. In other words, just by typing the url you can completely bypass the gateway, how do I prevent that?
To do that you need to password protect the page instead of just the link. Easiest way to do it is to apply password protection to the directory. On an apache web server you can either do this using the .htaccess and .htpasswd files or there may be an option in your control panel for your site. It depends on the options offered by your paid hosting.
