Hey guys please help me out, I need the HTML code for a vertical scroll bar.... but not for the side of page.... for the side of a paragraph... please help
I think what you are talking about is a iframe. This is a inline frame that would allow you to have a paragraph scroll separately from the rest of the page. For details on how to use a iframe try this link to The .
Note that Bravenet does not support frames. If you are using frames on a free site you will get a banner in every frame.
There are several ways that this effect can be achieved. As Martin suggested you can use an iFrame or you can also use a textbox or a scrollable DIV (use Google to find tutorial sites with details)
I have experimented with using these features on my site and decided that they added minimal value while making they layout look untidy.
I would suggest making test page and coming back to it several times over a week to see if you grow to like the effect to grow to hate it.
Grrr sorry ive posted again but i put the code in and it works but inside the frame it says 404 file not found or whatever, is there like a code to put like a sentence inside it?
Well, so far you haven't given us a URL so we can see what you are doing. We are not clairvoyant and have no idea what you put in your code, unless you show us the code or point us to a test page.
I wanna know... The iframe thing works.... but is there a HTML code to put writing inside the frame? suck as ? or somthing? cause the frame works but when i type in doesnt go inside the frame please respond.
Corwings... just sh&% Up. And go post somthing that you need help with..... my question was is there a code for words to go in a Iframe. the url is i dont have the iframe up yet on my site but i have the code and it never works when i try to put words in it. So please write back, ( not includeing Corwings ).
2 things.... how can i make the scroll bar go to the right side and not in the middle? and 2nd thing is whats the HTML code to put spaces because right now i cant get spaces.
You obviously have the code on a local test page. Please upload it to your web site and give us the URL. Otherwise I have no idea what you are talking about. There are other people that could help you out, if they could only see the problem. If there is some special reason you don't want everyone to see it, go to my web site, access the Contact Me page, and send me the URL.
Are you asking what is a URL or are you asking for my URL? To get to my site just click on the little icon under my name in this posting. This will provide a link to my web site.
In the mean time, here are some more guesses. You have probably defined the
to be a specific size. For arguments sake, let's say 400 pixels wide and 200 pixels high. If you put something wider than 400 pixels in the
, and you have the
attribute "overflow" set to "auto", you will get a horizontal scroll bar. This commonly happens with images. It also happens when designers try to use non-breaking spaces, , to format their text and graphics. If you force a line to be wider than your defined space, you get the scroll bar. There is a way to disable the scroll bars, but that would make some of the data inaccessible.
