In my file manager I have a birthday page.html and the main index.html

When I type in both addresses they show up but I am not able to make a link on my main page to the birthday page.

This is what I get in the address bar when I click the link I have attempted http://www.geocities.com/kindakewl/www.gwocities.com/kindskewl/birthdaypage.html

What am I doing wrong that I can't get the HTML code right.

I have worked on it for 2 days and I am ready to give up.

Any help out there in cyberland?

First of all, your Main and Birthday page URLS should look exactly like these:

http://www.geocities.com/kindakewl/
http://www.geocities.com/kindakewl/birthdaypage.html

Watch your spelling. That's the problem.

If I understand you correctly, you want a link on your index.html page so that when you click on the link, you'll be taken to birthdaypage.html.

Okay, put the below html code on your index page in the location you want the link to appear. Below is the html for linking to your birthday page:

Visit my Birthday Page here

The "Visit my Birthday Page here" text between the tags is the wording for your link and it will appear on your index.html page. You can put whatever text you want, but the html tags on either side of the text should be coded as shown.

The link works fine now, so I assume you fixed it. But you may want to count the body-tags on your pages. The correct number is ONE body tag. However, you can add more than one attribute.
