Well here it is 2 weeks later and I am still trying to get I love a rainy night into my website. I love my site but I really want music. now I opened up the edit and I opened up the "link" place and wrote in http://(my name).bravehost.com/ilovearainynight.mid
and wrote in the the box your supposed to after clicking on text editor wrote ilovearainynight.mid you guessed it. nothing.
My problem is html is all greek to me . I just want one song. Now please your talking to a dummy here and there is no "music for dummies"
This is my last try. Jim has tried to help but I am so stupid I just dont get it. just one song. boo hoo
"I am so stupid I just dont get it"
Not knowing how to add music does not mean you are stupid.
"wrote in http://(my name).bravehost.com/"
Now, deliberately removing your username so that we cannot check your page to see what you are doing wrong, on the other hand......
But maybe you assumed that the URL link in your message works. It does not, so I suppose there is some typing error. Someone who knows the setup of bravenet/bravehost/bravepages etc. better may be able to guess at the correct URL, I suppose?
I'm sorry, I dont know what your talking about . My site is calicicat355@bravehost.com but I dont see how that can help. You cant see the music. I'm a grany , 65 years old. Got a puter 2 years ago , never had a lesson yet I was able to set up my website (almos)t. Im not trying to hide anything. i thought my name was evedent. The address is http://lorain355.bravehost.com/rainy.mid
But thank you so much for taking the time to tell me. Your help was appreciated. Lorain
There is some confusion about the name of your website. I spent a while trying to open calicicat355.bravehost.com when I should hve been looking at lorain355.bravehost.com
You do have rainy.mid uploaded to the server and I can play it, which is a start. You should be able to play it too by going to http://lorain355.bravehost.com/rainy.mid If you can't hear it then I think something on your computer must be awry.
The problem is I can't find the code that should play the file in the background anywhere on your site.
Lorraine,
I think you're confusing people a bit.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe you want a song that is on your lorain355.bravehost.com site, to be used on your calicocat355.bravejournal.com journal, correct?
Try this.
-Log in int www.bravenet.com, and click your Journal link.
-Click "Edit Displayed Text".
-Just above the box where you typed "Make it a great day !" and added your cat image, click the "Plain text/HTML Editor" tab.
-You'll see the HTML code behind all that. Right after it, paste the following code:
Thanks again Jim. As I said HTML is greek to me. But I do love my website and all my friends are impressed. I think I am really confused but i will work on this and when I get, I will let you know. Thanks again Jim. your the best.
