Hi there Lisa

I'm not sure if this site is still being updated but I figurred that I had nothing to lose and to post anyway and see if I got a reply. Firstly I really like your site - there aren't many out there that i have found and certainly not many with good resources as on yours. I am curious though on a few things and since i couldn't find it elsewhere on the net i thought i'd ask you.

Firstly how do you get into your racing chair ? is it quite difficult ? where did you get your chair from ? is it custom made. what got you into racing ? What kind of material are the chairs made out of. Is there some kind of significance in racing barefoot ? does it aid you in some special way ? do your feet get cold ( - I'm just curious), what kind of speeds can you achieve in a racing chair ?

I know that i've asked a lot of questions there but there doesn't seem to be much information on the net concerning these things that the layman would be interested to know. i've never seen a racing chair up close so i don't even know how you get into one ! You answers would be very much appreciated. Thank you

From

a very interested layman

Re: Queries

I transfer into my racing chair by putting my feet in first, then lifting the rest of me up and down into the bucket of my racing chair. It's difficult at first to get the technique downbut like anything it gets easier with practice.

My current chair is custom made from a Japanese company called OX Engineering, but I am getting a new one from Top End in the near future.

"What got you into racing ?"
-my coach asked me to try it and it took off from there

"What kind of material are the chairs made out of"
-aluminum

"Is there some kind of significance in racing barefoot ? does it aid you in some special way ? do your feet get cold"
-it's just lighter and easier to get into my chair w/o shoes

"what kind of speeds can you achieve in a racing chair ? "
-I've reached 60km/hr
