Is chatter, finish, depth of cut, a problem of your machining operation?

Hi, my name is Randy Harper. I am involved with chatter detection / correction of machining operations and am wondering if chatter is a problem in your shop. I can possilby help if that condition is occuring. Actually, it goes beyond chatter into specifics of dynamics possibly promoting increased DOC, MRR, Surface finish, etc. Using impact testing, audio freqency readings, freqeuncy response functions, stability charts, etc. Thanks, Randy

Re: Is chatter, finish, depth of cut, a problem of your machining operation?

Hi Randy:

I have been involved with special metal sales for 20 years now.

Our company has moved towards an engineered grade of mold steel SP-300 MODIFIED p-20.

some of the key performances of this product are the cleanliness, reduction of segritation (hard spots)
that have proven to help with chatter problems caused by hard spots in P-20

I would be pleased to forward you more information.

Best Regards

Tom Hillis
