Rubber Mold Design Question

Does anyone one have have good formula/guideline they are using to design # of cavities in a tool versus overall press tonnage?

Re: Rubber Mold Design Question

B, Sounds to me like you're working a little in reverse. You usually design the tool to have the number of cavities necessary to meet your production requirements. Then you size the tool/base to accommodate the cavity layout THEN you size the press to meet your tool needs.....But and however, just like in plastic injection molding there is a procedure and a formula for calculating the projected cavity area on the parting line (don't forget your runners ). Please give me a call and I'll walk you through it. Mike Biddle Sr. Product Specialist P.C.S. Co. 1-800-521-0546
