I am the last of the Doerr family. David Donald was my great uncle. He was KIA in Okinawa. He was part of Company I in the 29th Marines as a gunny sgt. He was awarded the Navy Cross. Over the years my family has lost anything of his career. The only thing I have is the book that was presented to the family by the Military Press. If anyone who may have any info or pictures of him, I would sure appreciate it.

My husband's grandfather Pvt 1st class
PASQUALE J PATRUNO was also in the 29th MAR 3-I sixth division. Machine Gunner.
I am trying to find out some stories about him from Quadalcanal and Okinawa.
He was awarded the Purple Heart for injuries at Okinawa 12 April 1945. He also has a bronze star.

I will definately keep the Doerr name in mind while researching.
