Looking for information on 6th Marine Eugene Schultz, Tarawa 1943-44

Hello every one.
Hope that someone might be able to help me out on this one.
I´m a Danish historian and in my possesion I have a captured Japanese flag by 6th Marine and gentleman vet Mr. Eugene Schultz,late off (?Colombus)Ohio. He fought on Tarawa, Bairiki, and was wounded and discharged 1944. That´s all I know.
Does anyone know how to find out more on this gentleman´s/unit´s military movements or records for verification and documentation, please?
