Does anyone remember a SGT Eddy Wojcik who was injured on Okinawa in the drive towards the southern end of the island? He began his service in 2d Bn, 15th Marines in 1939, then transferred to 1st Defense Bn at San Diego. In 1940 he was reassigned to the 3" AA Guns with 2d Defense Bn through Dec 1940. After a tour at Marine Barracks Great Lakes, IL he possibly served with 22d Marines in the Eniwetok, then Guam Campaigns before ending up in 29th Marines on Okinawa. He was injured by a short round that impacted next to his body while serving as an artillery spotter. He was air evacuated to Balboa Naval Hospital for a long period of hospitalization before he was discharged as a Sgt.
