Bomb Disposal and the 6th Engineer Batallion?

Hi, I just received my great uncles records from the National Archives and found out he was a Bomb Disposal Technician with the H&S Company, 6th Engineer Bn from late May, 1945 to late June, 1945. His name was Cpl. Chalckley Hipple from Pennsylvania. Does anyone have any info on the actions/movements of the 6th Engineer Bn or possibly any stories about him or other Bomb Disposal Technicians?
