Jack Wendell Kooch,PFC, Communications Section, 81MM Mortar Platoon, Headquarters Company, Third Bat

My Dad was a Marine in the Pacific Conflict. His name was Jack Wendell Kooch. He passed away on April 7th, 2009. I know his experiences during his time on Okinawa had a big impact on his life. I would like to know if there is anyone out there who knew him, or any sons or daughters that may have a father that knew him. He wrote a letter to SGT. Manchester, author of "Good Bye, Darkness" about 4 years ago, but it was unanswered. Perhaps, Sgt. Manchester had passed away?

Sorry to hear about your Dads passing. I lost my dad this past Sept. The men of the Greatest Generation are leaving us fast. Its hard to take such a great loss of people that did so much for all of us.The memories that we have of them will only grow greater inside our hearts. May he be with his fellow friends in heaven.
