Did anyone know my grandfather, Henry " Pete" Coleman from Winston-Salem, N.C.?

Did anyone know my grandfather, Henry " Pete" Coleman from Winston-Salem, N.C.?

My grandfather passed away back in 1995, and I am trying to gather information about his service during the war. I know he was aboard the U.S.S. Tennessee, and was present at Iwo Jima, Tarawa, and several other major engagements. If anyone knew him I would greatly appreciate you sharing any information you have with me. Many thanks,
