Can anyone tell me anything about my grandfather, Sgt. Robert M. Dempsey? He was in Saipan and Okinawa. He married my grandma, a Navy wave. Awarded the bronze star. and was presumed dead and later rescued from the stack of dead commerads. was wounded (thought fataly) on sugar loaf hill. I am missing him so, especially now since my sonis enrolled in the JMCROTC. I wish he was here to help me guid him. I am so proud to be a granddaughter of the 6th, a wife of a Marine air-wing vet, and a mother of a JMCROTC.
