According to documents I recieved from the department of Navy my uncle John Quinn was killed on June 29 1945. The First Battalion 29th Marines Death Certificate reads; Body is buried in a cave on Okinawa at TS-7456, P-3 Ryukyu Metto Map, Itpman sheet 3625 III N.E.and Itoman Sheet S.E.3625 III S.E. 1:25,000 and cannot be recovered at this time. I guess those are map locations. The U.S.M.C. Casuallty Report dated July 2 1945 states body not recovered. The U.S.M.C. has no other documents on this case.
