Re: Serial Number

Just a suggestion but you might see if you can't find a roster of the man's unit. Many times it has the serial number on there. I agree without the serial number it is hard because all the casualty cards are filed by serial number.

July 7, 1945? Perhaps he was wounded, taken back to a troop ship, and died. If you could post his name, I'm sure someone he could provide some assistance.

I was lucky enough to have NARA contact the NPRC, in St Louis and obtain the serial number. The Mr. Bill Pierce of the 6th provide the info I was searching for.
