Invitation for members of the Sixth Marine Division Association

Veterans Day Troopship Reenactment in Baltimore on Saturday, 5 November 2005

Veterans of all wars and active-duty military personnel are invited to attend Project Liberty Ship's annual Veterans Day cruise.

Project Liberty Ship welcomes all veterans, their guests, and active-duty military personnel to our annual Veterans Day cruise. It is our way of recognizing and honoring the contributions of our veterans, in war and peace, throughout our history as a nation.

In the past, Project Liberty Ship offered this event to veterans only. Due to age and infirmity, however, we encourage each veteran to bring one adult paying guest. Current active-duty military personnel in uniform are also welcome.

There is a nominal $20 (non-refundable) charge for each adult person making the cruise.

Passengers should arrive at the Main Gate of the North Locust Point Marine Terminal(just off I-95) no later than 9:00 AM on Saturday, 5 November. Once in the terminal, follow the signs to the ship. Passengers will be able to board from 0800 (8:00 AM) to 0930 (9:30 AM).

The cruise will include a memorial service, military music, refreshments will be available, and the ship will be open for tours.

The BROWN will return to the North Locust Point Marine Terminal where families and friends can welcome the veterans, just as they did in 1945 and 1946. The approximate cruise time is two hours.

Families and friends are encouraged to board the ship after its arrival back at the North Locust Point Marine Terminal to participate in the Veterans Day program and to tour the ship.

Tickets are available by mail order only. Download the Order Form from Project Liberty Ship's website, www.liberty-ship.com - the order form is accessible under "Cruises." Go to "Saturday 5 November 2005" and select "More Information - Veterans Day Cruise." Print and complete the form. Mail the form and your check to Project Liberty Ship; our mailing address is on the Order Form. All orders for tickets must be received by October 26, 2005.

All orders received before October 8 will be mailed by October 15, 2005. Orders received after October 8 will be mailed weekly as they are received. If you do not receive your tickets by October 22, please call 410-558-0164.

This event is organized by Project Liberty Ship, an all-volunteer, non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of the Liberty Ship JOHN W. BROWN as a living, steaming World War II Memorial and Museum Ship in Baltimore.
