I am looking for any information about my grandfather Staff Sargeant John Bauerle from Newport,Kentucky. He died in 1974 and never talked much about the war. My father and I are trying to find a little bit more about him. We know he was in the 6th marine division but not the unit. We have his President Unit Citation Medal and a book called North China Pictorial. We also know that he was in Tsingtao,China. We have a picture of him on Christmas day 1945 in Tsingtao. That is pretty much all we know of him and his life durning the war. If anyone could help it would be much appriciated.

Have you requested his military records from the National Archives at St. Louis?
