Following up father's memories

My father tells me he was in Company A, 15th Artillery, 6th Marine Division on Okinawa and Tsingtao during WWII. He was a .50 machine gunner and has several stories about Sugar Loaf Hill, tunnels, airfields, etc. I'm interested in seeking people he may have served with.

Is this the correct designation for his assignment? Further clarification is appreciated so I can make sure I reach the right group of men.

Thank you for your help, and to you veterans, thank you for your service.

Re: Following up father's memories

You are partially correct in your Fathters military unit. It would be 'A' company, First Bn., 15th Marine Regiment, 6th Marine Division. Your Father should join the Ass'n. as well as you. See Membership topic on our site, and also 'Sons and Daugters'. We have a reunion scheduled Sept 25th of this year for 5 days at the Sahara Hotel in Las Vegas. Approximately 500 or more will attend and many are from the 15th Marine Regiment.

Bill,
Thank you for expanding my information. I'll consider the offer of membership for my father and myself.
