I've not seen any mention of 'My Other Stuff', the songs that Sunny has written, on this Message Board. I was curious whether Sunny, or any of the talented people who show up here occasional, ever put music to her songs. 'The Beach Song' is pretty straight forward... no real issues with finding some sort of tune there. 'Naked and Unashamed'... pretty much the same... though it works better if the Chorus is repeated.

'Anything But Wear It' is rather more challenging... but then... I'm not so great with RAP. Of the three I think this last one is the best. I like how she, largely, uses rhyming couplets for the verses and the chorus is real creative. The Rap Break (Bridge) mixes it up a bit but it also leaves me behind when I try to sing that song... I don't really know how to fit Rap into a song. The verses flow pretty well and so will take a melody with little trouble... the Chorus... I can just about work something out for that... but then... I hit the Rap Break and that's where my attempt at the song breaks. It probably needs the composer's touch.

The thing is... with these songs... you can work some sort of melody to all sorts of lyrics or poetry and totally miss the writer's sense of how it should go. I'm probably better off just sticking to my own songs... especially since I'm probably something like 9 or 10 thousand miles away (as the crow flies... that's a really tired crow):laughing: .

After my wife died I found a folder with the words of the songs she had written before we married. She had never sung them to me so I have no idea how they should go and... I'm not real game to try and sing them... I only sing Bass, not the other three parts like she was able, and she was much better than I with anything musical so I doubt I could sing what she composed anyway.

I’m so sorry for your loss.

It’s been a long time since I’ve even thought about these ideas. Way back then, I was in contact with someone who was going to write the music for these songs, but that fell through, and I haven’t done anything with it since. Maybe someday I’ll dust them off and try again. And maybe get creative and come up with some more.

These are alternate words for the nursery rhyme - a 'free the nipple' version - for a nudist mum.

Probably needs another verse to tidy it up and finish on a positive note but I don't know where to go with it, yet, or what else should be said. Maybe there should be something about how beautiful/wonderful it is to see a baby suckling at a mother's breast. Or... I usually bring a Christian focus within my songs... so far this song it's missing that link.

I've not yet done an MP3 of this and probably should have written down chords for the verse and chorus but this one of my songs about being nude. I may tweak it some more yet... second verse could be a bit... busy (i.e. lots of words)
