Re: Adidas Stabil Squash Shoes Problem

Well I spoke to the Manager for Customer Service for Adidas UK and he was as much help as a chocolate fireguard.
I have spoken and had emails from a number of people and almost all support the fact that the Stabil 5 gives insufficient padding around the toes.
According to him, there is no problem with the shoe.
I was told that if I wanted to do anything, I had to send the shoes back, in their box (and of course, we all keep shoe boxes!) and special, or recorded delivery.
Then they will have their specialists check the shoes for specific problems. I told Mr Nice that it wasn't a manufacturing fault but a design problem and that other people report the same things but alas and alack, according to him, there is no problem! So my bruised toes and everyone elses injuries and discomfort are imagination. Nothing more.
I am ****ed if I am going to fork out another £10 - £15 to send back the shoes, only to be told there is nothing wrong with them which I know anyway (because Mr Nice told me so!!!).
So, now I am on a quest. One for Adidas to get their act together. They are too complacent by far. For your information. If you (like me) think that such complacency is unacceptable, Mr Nice's telephone number is 01245 5454300 personally, I am going to tell anyone who will listen about this including squash magazines, papers, forums the lot! Petty it might seem but I hate recieving crap service. BTW, Mr Nice is responsible for all Adidas customer service!
I told him about this site and he looked at the postings but obviously our problems don't exist so he didn't see them!

Re: Adidas Stabil Squash Shoes Problem

I bought a pair of Stabil 5 because all the pro players who attended my local open tournament last year were wearing them. BIG MISTAKE! They are by far the most uncomfortable shoes I have ever worn.
My problem area was on the outsides of my feet from my small toes half way back to my heels.
By the way, the most comfortable squash shoes I have ever had were the Jonathon Power shoes. To bad they only last about 5 matches.
I currently wear the Prince NFS 3, they are sufficiantly comfortable for my foot type but fall apart too fast.

Re: Re: Adidas Stabil Squash Shoes Problem

adidas stabil is by far the most comfortable and weaable squash shoe i have ever owned. They fit like soccer shoes and i love them. right out of the box they fit like a glove.

Re: Adidas Stabil Squash Shoes Problem

before getting all worked up, why don't you give your feet time to develop callouses in this hi-friction areas? every new shoe rubs your feet in different ways. after a week or two of playing every other day, my feet are immune to blisters. as bill mentioned, it could also be the shoe size/fit is not right for your feet.

Re: Re: Adidas Stabil Squash Shoes Problem

I have used the Stabil 4 shoe for the past 6 months. After each game, I have a blistered heel towards the outer edge and also a blister on the end of my large toe.

Re: Adidas Stabil Squash Shoes Problem

Most uncomfortable shoe I have played in. Adidas customer care is a joke. They couldn't give a toss about the customer once they parted with their cash.
I found the stabil (5) looked great (except for that awful plastic toe cap) but wasn't snug enough around the end of the foot. In my experience, Adidas shoes always are on the small side so you end up buying a bigger size than normal anyway.

Re: Re: Adidas Stabil Squash Shoes Problem

I love the stabils, they are the best squash shoes I've had in over 20 years. However a couple of points. Firstly you need a slightly bigger size in adidas in general. Secondly the stabil 5 was slightly smaller and slightly less wide than the stabil 4. I had to go from a UK 11.5 stabil 4 to a UK 12 stabil 5. The stabil 5 was also stiffer than the 4 and I thought I wasn't going to like it - however they do soften noticeably after maybe 20 wearings. The 4's were immediately likeable but lost all support after 18 months. The 5's were initially stiff but always give good support.

Re: Adidas Stabil Squash Shoes Problem

I liked the Stabil 4 and so when they (adidas) brought out the 5 i went and bought a pair. I took them back to the shop after a weekend where i used them twice. They were uncomfortable both around the heel and I can well beleive that they hurt your toes. Mine were sore if I remember rightly but mainly they hurt my heel.
Gimme Reebok anyday clothing and shoes!
It's good that someone has said something about this because I thought it was just a bum pair or me being fussy. Hope Adidas get it sorted though!

Re: Re: Adidas Stabil Squash Shoes Problem

Got a pair of stabil 5 a few weeks ago. Wore them straight away and they are the best shoes I have had out of the box. Comfortable straight away. I had hi-tec vipers before (OK, but quite a lot of blisters on sole of feet) and Prince NFS 3 before that (Blisters on top of big toe and wore out really quickly). I have small narrow feet and adidas shoes are always the best fit for me.

Re: Re: Re: Adidas Stabil Squash Shoes Problem

I like the stabils and have noticed that they suit people with wider feet. If there's anything wrong with them it's the flimsy insoles.
