Re: Re: Re: Rebecca Macree

Hear hear! As Chairman of the English Deaf Squash Association I would personally like to say that Rebecca who also happens to be our Ambassador, has shown that despite being unable to hear the ball, the movements of one’s opponent and refs calls etc, she has shown that it is possible to reach the very heady heights of one’s chosen professional sport!

So until one has experience of that best to acknowledge that she has achieved much in her choice of career. I too like Rebecca have never experienced what it is like to hear the ball being whacked against the front wall, nor hear the applause when a well executed shot hits its intended spot in pursuit of the winning shot. So on behalf of EDSA I say well done and hope that you will continue to have success in whatever you choose to do now you have put down your racket and ball.

As with any discipline sport is made all the more interesting by the individual personalities of those who choose to participate, undoubtedly we all will be the poorer for the absence of Rebecca both in home and international tournaments.

It is the easiest thing to criticise, but harder to partake especially with a disability amongst their 'hearing' peers!
