Where's the women's ToC coverage????

Superb coverage of the men's event at the ToC but where on earth are the reports on the women's matches? I can't see one paragraph on the women amongst the numerous pages of men's coverage. You wouldn't think they were even playing.

Re: Where's the women's ToC coverage????

I totally agree. The men's coverage is great but no word on the women. Come on guys, sort it out please.

Re: Re: Where's the women's ToC coverage????

It's hard to get into the womens tournament when you have the best guys in the world playing, even I'll admit that.

With the women joining the men on the glass court tonight I suspect the coverage will improve!

Re: Re: Where's the women's ToC coverage????

Guys, I can't clone myself. There are 2 venues. The women started yesterday, and were played in a totally different place, at the same time that the men second round was on.
So, I am covering ALL the matches on the glass court, working 18 hours per day since the minute I arrived in NY. I'm sorry you are unhappy, but unless you find a way for me to be at the same place at the same time, I don't see what I can do....

Re: Where's the women's ToC coverage????

...I do not think that this is a dig at Framboise; indeed, everyone agrees that the coverage has been excellent...it simply highlights that there is also a demand for coverage of the women's event. Is this not an issue for The Squash Site to tackle...perhaps they need to employ more reporters...finances permitting (I suspect not, as the event is in NY!)

Re: Re: Where's the women's ToC coverage????

At the moment, nobody is getting paid on SquashSite. But it will come, it will come...
Sorry if I barked, but I am slightly exhausted...
Sorry....

Re: Re: Re: Where's the women's ToC coverage????

Who cares about the women..

Re: Re: Re: Re: Where's the women's ToC coverage????

A lot of people

Re: Where's the women's ToC coverage????

It was always going to be difficult, with the women's event at a different venue, but we've got something up there now, and as Framboise says, with all matches now at the same venue it will definitely get better ...

Re: Re: Where's the women's ToC coverage????

Hi Guys, if you lot running the Squash site are not getting a pay packet, then pray explain how the site is financed and more so what do you guys do to earn a crust?

You can't live on fresh air even if it's air from Wall Street! :o)

That aside since this site has been started, it has I reckon taken away some of the gloss that was on a certain other squash site where we saw the same guys operating!

Will anyone divulge as to why you left?

Re: Where's the women's ToC coverage????

At present we're running SquashSite on a part-time basis, doing our 'normal' work as well, so at present it's costing us money to run the site, but we're hoping to have funding in place soon ...

Re: Re: Where's the women's ToC coverage????

Thus your full time jobs is running the other squash sites? ;o)

After all how could one be doing the reportage of 18 hours a day if Framboise is to be believed just for Squash Site!

Thus I put it to you you are masquarading as reporters, web site masters etc for any number of the other Squash related sites! So own up!

Re: Re: Re: Where's the women's ToC coverage????

So what if they are? Let us all be very thankful that we are getting the information and match reports quickly. If Framboise wants to work 18 hours per day on her own cost to get us the info, then I thank her deeply. Of course, she must be a little nuts....

Re: Re: Re: Re: Where's the women's ToC coverage????

Although a lot of you won't agree, but don't you think there should be streaming of the Women's matches as well??? Even though, it is a PSA service, there should still be coverage of the women, since they are already listed on the streaming webpage alongside the men.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Where's the women's ToC coverage????

Maybe folks that this is all a case of what can just a few people do?? This site and most others are not professionally run or financed ...... the people who do this work do it for the love of the game. I have personally seen Framboise and Steve, at the Nationals last week, working forever, on top of their own personal troubles, just to let people know what is happening in the world of squash. So come on people, give them a chance, they really are doing their best. If anybody would like to make things better I am sure that Fram and Steve would love some help ..... but don't expect to be paid for this!!!
