Re: Alison Waters

you beat me too it andy.
i was fortunate enough to watch alison beat tania. i knew that having watched that game and the way in which she has matured that vicky would have a fight on her hands tonight. and as it turned out alisons aggressive stoke play and gritty determination proved to be too much for vicky.
like andy said it is a privilage to watch a young player mature in front of your eyes. to tapping on the door a few seasons ago with promising performances, to kicking it right in here at the nationals.
well done alison and good luck in your semi.

Re: Re: Alison Waters

JUST ABOUT TO REPLY TO MY OWN POSTING AND AGREE WITH WHAT I WROTE AND THEN SOME.

FANTASTIC PERFORMANCE AGAIN TODAY ALISON. AND I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO SAY WELL DONE TO THE ENGLISH COACHING TEAM. I KNOW THEY HAVE COME IN FOR SOME STICK. HOWEVER PAUL CARTER AND I BELIEVE ANNETTE PILLING HAVE WORKED CLOSLEY WITH ALISON OVER THE LAST FEW YEARS AND THE IMPROVEMENT IN HER FOREHAND HAS BEEN INCREDIBLE.

WELL DONE. I'M MADE UP FOR YOU.

Re: Re: Re: Alison Waters

Well done Alison, great tournament. It has been Paul Carter and David Pearson working on her swing, not Annette Pilling. The results are evident. Good work.

Re: Alison Waters

I agree

watched the whole thing today, fantastic performance... future world no1??

Re: Re: Alison Waters

I agree entirely with all the above messages. Allison had been a delight to watch all week, especially with the mature way she handles herself on the court. During her semi-final against Rebecca Allison truly stood out in my mind, anyone watching the game maybe for the first time would have thought that Allison was the more senior and experienced of the two players. Well done Allison for reaching the Final, a tremendous feat at such a young age. Although quite obviously the nerves got to you in the final and the score may suggest you were beaten quite easily, this was certainly not the case as you made Linda fight for every point, and I for one was very impressed with the mature spirit in which you played the match. I will surely be watching out for Allison in the future because she is certain to become at least British No 1 very soon, and ,maybe even World No 1.
Best of luck for the future to Allison.
