SOUTHPORT FALKLAND 30th ANNIVERSARY PARADE

In 2007 I organised the Southport Falkland 25 and was lucky enough to have the support from Secretary of State and Minister for Veterans Derek Twigg who came and laid a wreath with other dignitaries and senior officers from the Armed Forces. I am now making plans for our Falkland 30th Anniversary and BAFD parade on Sunday the 1st of July 2012.

We intend to hold a Falkland display in the Town Hall the week leading up to the parade for the public and provide refreshments and entertainment in the Town Hall gardens following the parade for our many Veterans in the North West .

I have sent out invites to the The Duke of York, Defence Minister Andrew Robatham, The Lord Lieutenants Office, Brigadier Nick Fitzgerald 42 N/W, Commodore Baum from HMS Eaglet and Wing Commander N/W Paul McQuire.

Being a Naval man myself and my Grandad who was lost at sea on the Craftsman I would like to see the Merchant seaman being more involved with military events and would love to see you at the Christmas lunch but espesially at the parade next year.

Hope to hear fro you soon

Best wishes
Steve
