The above verses aren't meant to be applied to our modern world, they were instructions to fight back after years of persecution.

Islam is *good* in the way that all Abrahamic religions are good. Judaism, Christianity, and Islam all spring from the belief that Abraham entered into a contract with God who blessed his offspring with the promise of a close relationship with the divine.

The basic tenets of all three faiths are the same - the only real difference is the significance attributed to the latter prophets Mohammed and Christ.

Practitioners of any religion can be *bad* when they fail to recognize that the individual rituals and narrow-minded interpretations of "rules" are not more important than the basic belief structure of peace, good will, and harmony with your fellow man.

When one is able to suspend his disbelief to the point where he believes his religion is somehow unique, particularly when you're talking about one of the world's youngest religions, then one has transformed a good way of life into a delusion. Once you start living with delusion, anything can happen.

So does the bible, if you take stuff from the old testament out of context. I can make anything look good or bad if you give me enough time and an idiot that wants to sate his anger at something. Grow up.

I'm not sure if you are actually asking a real question or just looking for a fight psycho1. If you are asking a real question, then the above quote is my answer. Before you can find out, for yourself, if any one religion is good or bad, I would wonder about the meaning of good and bad first, if I were you, and how that relates to what I do and don't believe. About everything.
