Being responsible for alot of the questions on here about psychopaths, I've got to say, what's wrong with being curious?



As humans, we are blessed with curiosity, to seek out answers to our questions. Psychopathy is a very interesting subject, so why not be curious? If curiosity didn't exist, how would we learn? We woudldn't.
As for "Am I a psychopath, am I not", some people on here are legitamately scared that they are or might become psychopaths... So they seek answers...

I find that there is a bond created after engaging someone in a heated debate. If you can force them to laugh.. somehow it breaks the ice nicely.

Is that "Fight Club" therapy? Forcing people to face their fears or death does yield results quickly. People always tell me they want to do things but lose their courage at the last minute. I think people who face death are more quick to act and less hesitant. So to appriciate life you have to first fear losing it?

Everything i post has some alterior motive behind it. Like i said at one point, i've replied with 5 different personalities. It's meaningless to everyone else, even me to be honest but it's fun to see how people change their tones so rapidly. You can't get that in real life as people get akwward when you ask them, out of the blue, things like "don't you think eugenics is a good idea in theory?"

Because the topic way, way too subjective to hold any meaningful discussions about. It's like asking a room full of peoplw what their favourite music is and then debating it.

That's a bad example. People debating music can elaborate on their opinion by explaining their music is better because of tone, rythm, style, etc.

Religion is faith. There is no scientific evidence to suggest there is a God and not scientific evidence to suggest there isn't. So it's all down to faith, a concept it appear many people cannot grasp.

Occam's
Razor states that, "When competing hypotheses are equal in other
respects, one should select the hypothesis that introduces the fewest
assumptions and postulates the fewest entities while still
sufficiently answering the question." In other words, the
simplest explanation is probably the correct one. This means that
because there are naturalistic explanations for everything we see and
know, there is no reason to postulate "God," which would
just add another unnecessary "entity."

Obviously,
this does not prove that there is no God, because one cannot
prove a negative, but it does obviate or eliminate the need to
imagine a "God" as an explanatory factor for anything.

Since
Occam's Razor (or any other logical method) does not, and cannot,
prove "no-God," the God conversation always devolves
into a debate about so-called "faith." Since faith is by
definition not logical (Tertullian: "I believe it because
it is absurd"), a logical or scientific discussion about the
existence of God always breaks down, and often ends in name-calling
such as what I am seeing here on the Forum. This is unfortunate
because the name calling buries the issue, so that what is being
debated is no longer the existence of God at all, but rather who is
superior in the debate, which means exactly nothing.

The main argument on here against the existence of a God is that if God existed, then why couldn't he just appear to us all?...
Well, He could simply appear and prove to the whole world that he existed But if He did that, there would be no need for faith, and faith we're taught that without faith, it's impossible to please God.

Something I often use to counter people telling me of the apparent inconsistencies and contradictions of the bible, is that up until the 1500's people still believed the earth was flat. The Bible however talks of the Earth as a "circle". The Bible acknowledges a round Earth thousands of years before anyone proves that it actually is indeed round.

There, upsettingly, are still many people in the world that insist on forcing their religious views upon others, be it a belief in God, or a disbelief, and insist that religion should never be questioned, scrutinised or examined, the opposite to the teaching of the Bible. And those who choose to exercise their God given right to freedom of speech are condemned to death, condemned to spend the rest of all eternity in Hell, which in my opinion, does not exist.

The universe displays such amazing design, there must have been a divine Designer.
Scientifically, if protein molecule percentages had of been just a few percentage points off, the Earth would not exist. The chances of us existing in Protein Molecules is 1 in 10/243. That's ten with 243 zeros.

Seriously though, I don’t put much stock in arguing or defending or name calling and so on. I haven’t gotten much value out of it myself nor have I seen the wisdom in it when I see other people engaging in conflict, verbal or physical. And I get that this view is not popular, especially on this forum as of late. I don’t think arguing and/or fighting verbally is wrong and that you or others should stop. It’s just not for me. Truth does not need defending. It simply is what it is. Egos, on the other hand, never run out of things to fight about and for!

My world is just fine, thanks for asking. :-) I have read loads of books, on many subjects. Your understanding of truth is… limited. Unnecessarily so. Truth cannot be found in what is read in books. Facts can, but not truth. It’s bigger than that.

I understand why you believe what you believe. I get that it makes sense to you. I even get that you felt compelled to express your disdain. You were completely successful in that expression. So that’s good. Um… honestly, I don’t know what else to say to you because I’ve made it pretty clear that I don’t defend because I don’t need defending. I don’t argue because I can’t see anything worth arguing about. So there you go. I celebrate your freedom to believe precisely what you wish to believe, to examine what you want and to leave unexamined what you want.

You missed my point entirely. Truth is very often obscured on purpose and if no one defends their point of view, humanity would be lost. That is what i meant with reading history. You read history, then you read the same history by another author and you have 2 different histories. If you don't care about the truth and instead are content with a subjective view then that's your choice. I on the otherhand wish that my views are challenged with logic and reasoning.

All I can say is that there is a reality larger than logic and more profound than human reasoning. As such, you can only see it.
