We just competed in our 3 Cinderella Prelim & had 2 of our 3 kids take overall titles! We are really excited to go to state this year with all 3 kids!
But I have a couple questions...
1) What do boys wear for casual wear? We have a tux for formal, but have no idea what to wear for casual, anyone with suggestions?
2) Then I have 2 girls competeing in the Miss age division. Do they need a white dress? We have a state mom that no one likes & she is on the girls & then our state director came in & changed 99% of what the mom said! So I am totally confused! Do they need the white dress just for crowning or do they need it for the pageant?
I am not sure what state you are competing in but in NC it doesn't say anything on our paper work that my daughter needs a white dress. For the prelim my daughter competed in the other week she just wore her beauty dress for crowning. This is going to be our first year going to state also and I hope that they don't throw any curve balls at me...I want to be as prepared as possible!! :)
The only time a girl has to wear a white dress is if she's reigning royalty and she's wearing her crown, banner, and robe. This goes mainly for state and international royalty as far as I know but some local pageants have their royalty wear white dresses also. My girls both wear colored dresses because that's what looks best on them. If you read the rules it says "real clothes on real kids". I would have your daughter wear whatever looks best on her that is very natural...an easter type dress or party dress. If she's a Miss remember that it needs to be knee length. I hope this helps.
