I inherited an ho engine that I am researching. It has the poles on top for overhead electric wires, and the front and back are identical(goes both ways). I can find no markings or #'s on it. It is rather heavy and is at least 40 years old. If anyone has any info that would be great.

If the ends are rounded and the thing looks somewhat streamlined it could be a GG1 from any number of makers.

not rounded, the cab is in the center and a nose slopes down each direction to a square front.

How many wheels, diecast or tinplate, length?

It would seem we are looking at some sort of steeple cab electric with trolley poles. Is the model brass (gold color),or is it die cast (silvery gray color)? If it is brass,it may have had lead weights added to make it heavier.
