I am looking for a childhood set from the 1980's. It was an 0-27 New York, New Haven and Hardford freight set. I think the steam loco was a 2-6-2. I do remember that the fire box was illuminated red in the cab. The only remining pieces are a tender model 8050-t and caboose #9380. Your help is greatly appreciated.
Hello. I believe you are looking for the #1050 New Englander set. It came with a 2-6-4 steam engine, DC powered, I believe. Lionel engine model# is 8007.
Just as a follow up,the other cars in the set were a #9035 blue Conrail boxcar,a #9036 white Mobilgas tank car, and a #9140 green Burlington gondola. I hope this helps. "Impala"
