I have a Lionel set that was my fathers from 1958, I dont know much about it other than it is the 027 and the number on the engine is 2037. I'm just wondering if its worth anything?

As with most trains the major factor is condition. Prices for your 2037 can range from $35 for one in well played with condition to $175-$200 for a fine example complete with it's correct tender and original boxes. Yours would have to be valued on it's own merits.
