Re: Train Shipping and packing

I received a rather hard to find Marx plastic diesel once from a dealer, now out of business, who simply packed it in one of the repro train boxes and labelled it! No larger surrounding box; no cushioning material whatsoever. I watched as the UPS guy threw it onto my concrete porch. Naturally, it was in pieces when I opened it up. But the dealer refunded me, as UPS declared his packing deficient. A shame to see a nice diesel destroyed like that, though.

Re: Train Shipping and packing

It doesnt matter the shipper so much as it does the packer.

Every item is different, but in general, Box inside box is a requirement.

But if that inside box is right up against the outside box, crumbs will occur.

You need a good cushioned layer between everything.

Imagine they'll drop it from a low flying plane, and your good.
