Value Of 1955 Lionel Set?

Recently I have found my old Lionel Passenger train set my parents bought for me when I was born (1954). I'm not in the market to sell it, but I would like an idea what its worth. I did go on e-bay to get an idea what it would be worth, but could find nothing like it. I will list what the set consists of & would appreciate it if anyone could give me an idea what it is worth.
# 2328 Locomotive
# 2442 Illuminated Vista Dome Car (2 of these)
# 2446 Illuminated Observation Car (1)
# 2444 Illuminated Pullman Car (1)
Lionel Multivoltage Transformer Type 1053. Still in original box
Remote Control Track Set 6019
Operating Instructions for a Lionel GP-7 Road Switching Locomotive
How To Operate Lionel Trains & Accessories 1955-56 Manual
The original box the entire set came in. All train cars & locomotive are still in their original individual boxes which are almost 100% original condition

Any information & history you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Value Of 1955 Lionel Set?

The 2328 was made in 55-56. Sounds like the set is the 1562W, made in 1956. According to the Standard Catalog of Lionel Trains, by David Doyle, (copyright 2004)a set in excellent condition(sounds like yours is) is worth $1800.00. Like new it's worth $3000.00

Nice set you have there.

Hope that helps!
