Just purchased the engine but the wheels are'nt magnetized anymore. Can they be Re-magnetized? I know this engine is supposed to have magnetraction but is there a shelf life to magnetization? It's a 1978 model. Any help appreciated.

Check with a "BIG-CITY" Lionel service station. Was the chassie "exchanged"??
