Lionel 4-4-2 Streamlined Steamer 1937

My father got this train for his first Christmas in 1937. When my parents divorced, my mother threw it away. I know, I know. Blasphemy! Well, I'd like to replace it for him for his 70th birthday on January 20, 2007. Does anyone out there know where I can get one? Does anyone know how expensive it will be?

My dad described it as gray with red reflectors on the front and smooth - not the normal black locomotive. But it has to be 1937.

Thank for your help, everyone.

It's probably something like this prewar train:

Get David Doyles book: "The complete guide to Prewar lionel".....for about $25.00, and you'll be able to see all your options with price estimates.

Hope this helps.

Happy New Year!
