I have a Marx 494 engine with a few other cars and some track. Somewhere along the way I lost the transformer. What transformer would have come with the set originally? I am interested in buying a replacement (or selling what I have), but I don't even know what to buy. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello:

the marx transformer that came with it was either blue or black (depending on the year it was made) with a chrome handle on the top.

Lionel transformers work also.
