While cleaning out a storage room I came
across my fathers old train set. It includes a 999 engine, new york central tender, pacemaker 174580, c&o 44572 high side gondola, b&o 25400 gondola, a nyc caboose 20102 and the transformer.
They are about 60 years old.
My question is are they worth anything?
Should I hold on to them or sell them?

Hi Paul. Since your dad's set is tinplate, condition is very important. e.g. any rust, dents, missing parts?

You should consider keeping as a christmas tree set.

If you were to sell, I'd offer up to $50 depending on condition as noted earlier.
